UAVCAN Fuel Gauge / Smart Battery
This board / concept is work in progress. The idea is to create a board which plugs onto the LiPo-balancer plug, has a balancer plug on the other end and stays always connected (also during charging).
The board has only three ICs:
- A low-power battery monitor. This is the only IC which is powered from the battery (to not risk to deep-discharge it over time)
- A low-cost MCU running UAVCAN bare-metal, e.g. a STM32 M0 or NXP M0 (powered from the UAVCAN connector)
- The CAN transceiver (powered from the UAVCAN connector)
